offkut is an independent design company based in London. Our ethos is to produce affordable, practical and ethically produced works of art for the home. Offkut are Mike Doveton and Saul Grant. Our workshop is in Camberwell Green in South East London.

The wood we use is all industrial reclaim- from railway sleepers to pier pilings. The wood is sawn, planed, sanded and finished with Danish oil. The grain, cracks, splits and knots in the timber mean that each piece is as unique as a fingerprint. All our work is handmade.

 The bulbs in our lights are carbon filament reproductions, made in Switzerland. The delicate filament is hand woven. They are made well and made to last - the larger globes will burn for a minimum of 5000 hours.

They are fully dimmable meaning you can increase the lifespan of the bulb by up to five times, and also view the beautiful filament. We 
believe durability is key to reducing waste and saving energy. We do not have to compromise aesthetics to be ethical. 

All our products are made to last. We are the opposite of in-built obsolescence, mass production and mass waste. Durable, beautiful and ethical. Design as it should be.
